Loan Officer Assistant (LP-2)

Summary:

Responsible for providing essential support to one or more Loan Officers, ensuring the smooth processing and closing of loan applications. Primary duties in process focus on receipt of submitted application to signed initial disclosures. Loan Officer Support:

  • Receives incoming applications via phone, email, and online.
  • Reviews all applications for completeness.
  • Maintains LOS and CRM database along with notes keeping file status up to date.
  • Follows up on missing documents and addresses any conditions.
  • Evaluates and structures client loan file with appropriate loan program.
  • Pre-approves customers using automated underwriting systems (AUS).
  • Prepares the loan file for initial disclosures and processing.
  • Attends closings in absence of Loan Officer.

Customer Service:

  • Answers general customer inquiries regarding policies and procedures.
  • Communicates with customers, real estate agents, and title companies to keep them informed about loan progress.
  • Performs various administrative tasks, such as faxing, emailing, and making phone calls.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Solid knowledge and understanding of current business acumen.
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of mortgage lending processes, procedures and regulations.
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of Encompass.
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of a variety of loan programs including Conventional, FHA, USDA, VA and secondary marketing guidelines to manage complex loan level issues.
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of mortgage-related terms, such as escrow, taxes, closing documents and insurance.

Education:

High School or GED.

Additional Education Requirements:

NMLS licensed, not required but preferred.

 

Required Experience:

  • 1+ years of related experience.
  • Demonstrated experience working in a fast paced and changing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing and interpreting data.
  • Demonstrated experience effectively managing relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Demonstrated experience researching information, problem solving and making solid business decisions.

Physical Environment:

This is a hybrid position that offers remote flexibility and will also require some in office time.  Access to a
quiet space at home and reliable internet is required.
